The problem with captain N was mostly the fact that they wanted to make Kevin the star, Princess lana didn't even need the guy with the most badass heroes at her beck and call, Pit, Simon Belmont and Megaman could solo Metroid and defeat mother brain on their own, but we needed a teen with attitude or something like that to save the day, if the heroes had to protect their game worlds like Bayou Billy and the others, then it's when you need Kevin... sure the designs were terrible but you gotta ask yourself, were the designs on the covers of the NES games any better?
